The Club was formed in 1982 when it undertook the challenge and responsibility offered by the then Beaudesert Shire Council to develop and maintain a Botanic Gardens on 11 hectares of lantana and scrub covered land in Forsythia Drive Eagle Heights. This mammoth and marvelous task has been carried out by countless volunteers ever since. Today the beautiful
Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens are testament to the dedication and hard work of these volunteers.
To enable this achievement, funding was essential so the Club began presenting the
Springtime on the Mountain 'Open Gardens Trail'. This very popular event attracts thousands annually and offers 8 open private gardens, plant sales, homemade jams/preserves, gourmet food, live music and much more.
The Tamborine Mountain Garden Clubmeets at 9.30am on the second Tuesday of each month at:
Vonda Youngman Community Centre, Main Street, North Tamborine.
Proceedings commence with morning tea, followed by a short business meeting, a Guest Speaker, Competition & Specimen Tables and Raffle. Plants and cuttings are available for purchase.
We are not all expert gardeners but we do enjoy the peace and beauty of a garden and hope to learn from club activities. New members are always welcome.
